Application of cable pushers

In today’s world cables are very important for electricity distribution and communication. The first cable was installed in 1859 in the Australian waters, but it was abandoned from using because of its wear and tear in the sea.

Later in the 1870’s with the invention of the electric telephone, requirement for cables and building huge commercial networks significantly increased. As time passed and more and more inventions came up with the use of cable pushers.

Cable pushers are used in assisting the applications of cable pulling. They also used to strain out cable pulling equipment to avoid any damages in very long cable hauling assignments. These pushers can be used at the beginning of the cable installation.

There are many companies manufacturing these cable pushers for sale. There are different models available, some powered by electric motors, while others with diesel engines. They have the feature of adjustable jaws so they can operate with 200mm diameter cables. The designs are very practical and compact, therefore they can be transported easily to the site. This machine needs only one man for its operation. No additional manpower is required.

The main purpose where cable pushers are used is for industrial cable handling. Without a cable pusher machine, it would be extremely difficult to mount or manipulate heavy-weight and length of the cable.

A pendant which is attached to the machine controls the cable reel pusher. The cable is 5 meters long. This will ensure the safety of the crew members and prevent them from injuries.
