Discussion followed a week ago when the fight between Floyd Mayweather and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was reported. Clearly, the ridiculousness of the battle was the greatest dissension, yet straight up there was the matter of another mega fight that will happen three weeks after the fact in a similar field.
Gennady Golovkin and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will battle for the brought together middleweight title Sept. 16 at T-Portable Field in Las Vegas. It is normal Mayweather versus McGregor will take away pay-per-see purchases, hurt ticket deals and discourage media scope of that battle, which will be miles superior to anything that we will see the boxing and MMA stars.
Golovkin and Alvarez, who are amidst a multicity limited time visit, is on a similar side of the issue.
"This is not a battle. My battle with Canelo, this is a battle. This is a show," Golovkin said Tuesday amid an appearance on The Luke Thomas Show on Sirius XM. "Conor with Floyd, this is a show. A business appears or a clever show or some individual inspired by appearing, however not for us. This is not for boxing. This is for individuals, for business. My battle with Canelo, this is boxing. This is valid, regarded boxing, regard to the game, this is a genuine battle.
"I don't generally have a remark about that battle, however, I will state this: I think the fans will speak," Alvarez said. "They'll realise what to do. They'll know the distinction between a sideshow and a genuine battle and after that, they'll choose what they need to do."
Alvarez battled Mayweather in September 2013, losing by majority decision. Very few individuals are inspired with Mayweather's cautious battling style, however, it's a major motivation behind why he's 49-0 and going for the mystical 50th consecutively against McGregor.
"His style. His style's what's troublesome," Alvarez said of Mayweather. "He's a contender that doesn't hazard anything. He's excessively cautious protective. He doesn't generally mind whether he wins around by three punches. He couldn't care less what the general population think about him. For him, it's about winning and that is fine. That is his style, that is the thing that he goes for, yet I feel the fans need somewhat more activity."
McGregor, who has never contended in a beginner or expert fight, has been adulated by the MMA people group while the boxing side has been destroying him, saying he isn't a boxer and doesn't should be inside the ring against the best boxer of this era. Golovkin feels the same as his brethren who put on the 10-ounce gloves.
"I regard McGregor as a UFC warrior. He's not a boxer," Golovkin said. "He's a decent warrior, however, he's not a boxer."
